OUR ENGAGEMENT

On New Years Day of this year...about 10 minutes into New Years Day...I proposed to my best friend, Susan.  Of course it didn't go the way I wanted it too.  When does it ever?  There were three unexpected witnesses to the probposal; Timmy, Teddy, and Whisper.  Susan's two dogs and her cat.

We've decided to set the wedding date on our one year anniversary together, June 13, 2004.  If you do the math you'll notice that we met on Friday the 13th.  Good thing we're not supersticious!

We found a quaint little place for the wedding.  It's a historical monument in Oswego, Illinois called The Little White Schoolhouse.  It was built in 1854 as a church.  The style is refered to as a "Greek Revival" building.  For it's last 50 years before becoming a historical site it servedas a school house, which, I suppose, is where it gets its name.

The Cast

Susan’s Maid of Honor will be her daughter, Sarah.  Her Matron of Honor will be her best friend, Crystal.  My Best Man is going to be my oldest and closest friend, Daniel.  The rest of the cast, one Groom's-man, an Usher, and an Usherette will be made up of two of my nephews and my neice.

Officiating will be an old friend, Bob, who is also an elder at the Church where we meet.  Bob's son, Stephen, has graciously agreed to play piano for us.

My oldest nephew, Steven, who is a shepherd in his church and a friend of Susan's family, Matt, have each agreed to do a reading for us at our ceremony.

After the wedding we, and our nearly 100 friends and family, have a great celebration planned at The Landings.  That's a restaurant at the Fox Bend Golf Course Coutry Club.

We also put up a little engagement site at The Wedding Channel web site. Feel free to check it out.
